Those who know me know that i am pretty sporadic and impulsive. I get this from my parents who have decided to go on a mini FAMILY VACATION to the mother land! i.e.Indonesia! we have roughly thought out our itinerary and by roughly thought out i mean BARELY thought out.. heres what we have:
 * Land in bali airport (ngurah rai)change planes to jakarta
 * Jakarta 1 night then to Medan via Lion Air (WHICH WE HAVENT EVEN BOOKED TIKS FOR YET!)
 * Land in Medan - Sumatra , meet up with the rest of the family and proceed to Lake Toba, Samosir Island to check out these kids!Batak people (The native people of Sumatra are known for their music throughout indo)

so after a week in Sumatra we shall then plane it to Bandung to see my mother's side of the family!
That is the plan so far! HAHAHA but it will all work out in the end!

women who grew up in the 1950's...

It's been quite a while since my last entry.. now i feel like i need to catch up on posts! it's too easy to get caught up in the world around us!
This week leading up to christmas has been particularly hard. With my family friends passing away leaving her beloved family then my neighbour passing away leaving her husband of over 60 years behind in this life.. it is amazing how she spent most of her life with one man (as she got married on her 21t birthday). Both these women lived full and content lives being women of the 1950's made me think of this:
thinking about her life in the 1950's makes me think of aussie beach glamour and..

fashion glamour in her youth..
It doesn't feel like christmas yet but hopefully things will pick up. #Hope.Pray.Love

dreamer of dior.....the perfect closet

I found this cute little book at my boyfriend's sister's house and couldn't get enough the book was called "Dreaming of Dior" it had gorgeous illustrations and most importantly each piece has a story and it's surprising that when i look back at the pages i remember the story too....
i found myself vicariously living through other people's lives for a wonderful 3 mins (depending on how fast/slow i read the page). This book made me realise that clothes are not just pieces of fabric, a weapon of choice shallow people use to separate themselves to mere "nobodies", clothes are like photographs or balance sheets- they are snapshots of a specific/significant time in ones life. It is amazing how one item of clothing can conjure a memory so much so that the memory becomes part of the fabric and held there for generations to come. Here's a sneak peak

I still haven't finished reading the sequel, which is called Dreaming of Chanel, but everytime i turn the page i always end up like this:

All in All my fave book to relax to that instantly takes you from the world of conservative quakers to wild, fabulous parties people like me can only dream about..

I have found my fave dress in Dreamin of Dior Page 146 vintage Dior Wedding dress... just divine...
